Statement to the Public

On the occasion of the Glorious Christmas, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the sons and daughters of our people—our Christian sisters and brothers—in the North and East Syria Region, throughout Syria, and around the world. We wish them holidays filled with goodness, peace, and reassurance.

On this blessed occasion, we affirm that all heavenly religions call for the values of tolerance, love, and respect for humanity; for the rejection of hatred and violence; and for joint efforts to build societies where justice and peace prevail, and where all live together with dignity and equality.

We hope that Christmas will be an occasion to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and coexistence—a day of peace and freedom—during which the noble human values that unite the people of our region, despite their diverse religions and components, are renewed.

In the North and East Syria Region, we believe that any celebration of any component, religion, or sect is a celebration for all, given the interconnectedness, cohesion, and historical coexistence that characterize our region—making diversity a source of strength and richness, and a foundation for social stability.

In conclusion, we hope that the Christmas holidays and the New Year mark the beginning of a new phase in Syria, moving toward the building of a democratic, decentralized Syria, in which all Syrians enjoy security, freedom, justice, and peace.
