Health Authority in Al-Jazira Province Opens Malnutrition Treatment Center

On Monday, the Health Authority in the Al-Jazira province, in coordination with the international organization Save the Children, inaugurated the Stabilization Center for the treatment of children suffering from malnutrition at the People’s Hospital in Hasakah.

The opening ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Executive Council of the Al-Jazira province, the authority of organisations’ Affairs, and administrators from the People’s Hospital in Hasakah.

The center consists of five sections: the stabilization room, an infant room (for children under 6 months), a transition and rehabilitation ward, and the stabilization phase. The center has a capacity of 15 children and offers its services free of charge.

The inauguration included a tour to familiarize attendees with the center’s departments. The facility is designated for cases of acute malnutrition accompanied by medical complications that require hospitalization, after which patients are referred to outpatient clinics for continued treatment.
