Statement on the occasion of New Year 2026

On the occasion of the New Year 2026, the Autonomous Democratic Administration of North and East Syria extends its sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the peoples of the world, and in particular to the Syrian people, as well as to the residents of North and East Syria, hoping that the new year will bring goodness, peace, and hope to all.
On this occasion, we extend our highest respect and appreciation to the families of the martyrs, who sacrificed their most precious for the dignity and freedom of this homeland. We affirm that their sacrifices will remain a guiding light on the path of Syrians toward a better future.
We look forward to 2026 being a year of peace and freedom, and one that witnesses the safe and dignified return of all displaced persons and refugees to their homes, under conditions of stability and justice that guarantee human dignity and rights.
The year 2025 was marked by significant achievements, yet it was also filled with pain and suffering. This reality places a greater responsibility on all Syrians to intensify joint efforts, strengthen solidarity and national unity, remove the rubble, address the consequences of war that devastated our country, and rebuild our homeland on the foundations of freedom, tolerance, and acceptance of others.
In this context, we reaffirm that fulfilling the aspirations of our martyrs and the hopes of our people can only be achieved through building a decentralized democratic Syria, where all Syrians live together with their diverse cultures and identities, thereby strengthening Syria’s unity and national cohesion.
In conclusion, we hope that 2026 will be a year of serious and responsible national dialogue, and a genuine beginning toward building a modern, safe, and democratic Syria—one that honors the sacrifices of its people and its rich history.
