Statement to Public Opinion

In light of the transformations taking place on the Syrian scene, and the accompanying debates and diverse movements, the Democratic Autonomous Administration affirms the importance of dealing responsibly with this phase in a manner that preserves civil peace, safeguards public rights, and prevents the reproduction of polarization or the political instrumentalization of social components.
The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria reaffirms its steadfast commitment to the right of all Syrians, of all national, religious, and political components, to peacefully express their opinions, demonstrate, and participate in political life, as legitimate rights that must not be criminalized or infringed upon.
The Autonomous Administration stresses that demanding participation in the management of public affairs is a fundamental national right, and that addressing such demands must be based on responsible political understanding, away from collective labeling or rhetoric that deepens division and fuels hatred.
Rights are not administered through guardianship, components are not reduced to names, and justice is not built on collective accusation.
In this context, the Autonomous Administration considers the Alawite community an integral part of Syrian society, which has borne the burdens of the policies of an authoritarian regime that instrumentalized and abused society for decades. Addressing this legacy cannot be achieved by reproducing alignments or holding communities accountable for responsibilities that do not reflect their reality.
The Autonomous Administration also warns against attempts by figures linked to the former regime or its repressive legacy to reposition themselves by exploiting fears, steering public expression of certain components, or taking advantage of peaceful demonstrations for legitimate demands. It affirms that this path neither serves the demands of Syrians nor aligns with the requirements of the current phase. Overcoming this legacy is considered a fundamental condition for moving toward a just and stable Syria.
The Autonomous Administration renews its firm stance on the necessity of individual accountability and comprehensive transitional justice as the true gateway to fairness and national reconciliation, away from the logic of generalization.
The Autonomous Administration affirms that its political approach is grounded in a vision of building a state based on democracy, free citizenship, accountability, the rule of law, respect for diversity, rejection of incitement and hate speech, and joint action toward a democratic, pluralistic state that guarantees freedom and dignity for all Syrians.
