Statement to Public Opinion
- 17-01-2026
We are closely monitoring the recent field developments amid the continued attacks launched by the factions affiliated with the Transitional Government in Damascus against our areas, accompanied by serious violations affecting civilians and endangering the security and stability of the region.
These factions have clearly and explicitly violated the agreement reached yesterday, an agreement aimed at halting the escalation, preserving lives, and opening the door for solutions that maintain civil peace. Therefore, we affirm that the Transitional Government in Damascus bears full responsibility for the ongoing violations, as these factions are politically and militarily under its control. The direct escalation we are witnessing today is a result of this deliberate breach.
These continuous violations have been, and remain, a direct cause of the loss of many Syrian lives and the deepening suffering of the Syrian people, who have endured years of war and conflict. The continuation of this approach serves only the enemies of Syria, driving the country further toward chaos and destruction.
Out of our national responsibility, the Democratic Autonomous-Administration calls on the concerned factions to immediately and fully adhere to the terms of the agreement, to cease all military actions and provocations that threaten civilian security and undermine the chances of stability.
We also issue a clear call to the guarantor parties to the agreement, particularly the International Coalition, to fulfill their duties and bear their moral and political responsibilities, working earnestly to close the path to these breaches and violations, ensuring the implementation of the agreement in a way that preserves Syrian lives and prevents a broader escalation.
In this context, we call on all Syrians, and especially our people in North and East Syria, to embody the spirit of national responsibility, safeguard national unity among all components of the Syrian people, and avoid being drawn into the incitement and provocative speech promoted by certain paid media outlets, which aim to drag Syria into a new war, where no one but the enemies of the Syrian people will benefit.
Our choice will always remain one of dialogue, maintaining civil peace, defending the dignity and security of our people, and working towards a democratic, unified Syria based on justice and equal citizenship.
The Democratic Autonomous-Administration
Of North and East Syria
